Interactive and smart.
I was pleased to learn one of my favorite design textbooks, Meggs’ History of Graphic Design, is being redesigned into an interactive smartbook.
The San Francisco based Inkling has taken on this commendable task, and plans on enhancing the book’s content through iPad technology to create a handy, inspiring learning tool.
My copy of Meggs’ was stolen by my girlfriend a while back, and I would be lying if I said I didn’t feel like there was a void in my life.
Here is a quick glance
I have fond memories of flipping through the textbook’s pages, learning about my design fore-fathers and studying their masterpieces. If you’re a designer and haven’t already acquired a copy, I would highly recommend checking out Inkling’s site and learning more about this interactive textbook.
All others should also pick up this smartbook, you won’t be sorry.
As a design note the site itself has a cool scrolling background and a clean, refreshing layout. Check it out, you may be inspiried.
